These are the wax models from the previous page assembled in the final composition. They were "welded" - with wax, of course - onto a stand, also made of wax. You can see that different types of wax were used, and the crystallinity of the wax changes depending on whether it was part of a wax cast, wax used for sealing and welding, or wax used for patching up parts of the original models. Fortunately - or hopefully - the differences will be imperceptible in the final bronze.
But this is not the end before making the mold. For practical reason this wax statue must be mounted on a frame (also of wax), and a cup will be attached through which the bronze will be poured. For those interested in seeing the continuing saga of the creation of what will truly be a bovine triptych masterpiece - although some artistic Philistines will no doubt say it looks like three turds with horns mounted on a cow pie - stay tuned.
