CooperToons, in keeping with it's mission to bring enlightenment to all people regardless of origin, beliefs, and creed, does not involve itself in partisan politics. Instead CooperToons will follow the lead of George Washington - "Old Hickory Teeth" to his friends - and keep above the fray of impolite rhetoric and veiled innuendo.
It is interesting, though, how the tide of a political campaign can change. For a while it looked like Senator John McCain was going to waltz his way to the White House. But a few errors in judgement, a couple of selections of improper strategies, and suddenly he found himself between Barack and a hardplace.
NyeahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!
Geddit? Barack and a hard place? Geddit? Barack and a hard place?
(Oh, I got a million of 'em!)
There is, though, one particular reason why CooperToons extends his hand in congratulations to President Barack Obama.
Voters should keep in mind the onerous burden shouldered by the cartoonists and caricaturists in our society. These are honorable men and women - nay, perhaps the only truly dedicated men and women - who through love of country and freedom will render honestly and accurately those whom we call to public servce. Who else spends hours, days, months, yea, years in the study of the representational arts, which uniquely reveal the true essence of political philosophy of our elected representatives, revelations which far eclipse any artifices and devices of delivered rhetoric and oratory?
So just remember:
When election day comes, choose the best that we've got
Whether by ballot or the pick of a straw.
Always vote for the top of the lot,
The one that's easy to draw.
